Christmas baking

This year Christmas baking has included several rounds of mince pies (with home made mincemeat), Ginger Chocolate Truffles, Praline Truffles, Chocolate dipped Cherries and Marron Glace! Being far too pre-concerned with the eating of said baked goods I've managed to only get a couple of photos of the Marron!

I'll sort out some more soon......

Bakin' a Bakewell

Some people, mostly the queen ER, are lucky enough to have two birthdays, the queen that is and my pal Ed.
After a week long Birthday celebration in the big smoke, we were lucky enough to have the pleasure of his company here at the seaside.

My love for Ed runs deep - right into the bottom of a cake tin and on this birthday, last year he got a pecan pie and almond thins, i had my first ever go at Bakewells. Sweet. Mini Bakewell Tarts with a jam centre and a frangipani topping.

FUCK OFF they were good.

Happy Birthday Edric xxx

Chesty

On Friday my tour manager and i piled ourselves and some orange chocolate, kindly donated by Susy, into a hired van and bombed our way up to Essex to retrieve a chest of draws that has been sat in the barns at an ancient aunts house waiting to be lovingly housed by a member of her family.

Said loving member arrived after spending two hours driving her first ever white van (picture unavailable, sorry A_P).

We dinned on slightly burnt pizza and heard tales of relatives behaving in all sorts of ways explained only by the vast amount of alcohol consumed by my family on a day to day level.

After talking about plans for Christmas, tennis and my cousins published(!) Dungeons and Dragons story, we made our way, chest in tow, back to the coast.
After spending an hour and a half in the car and 50 minutes crawling along the Dartford Bridge, we decided that a pit stop was needed and found ourselves in shopping hell/heaven Bluewater.

It was here that i realised i had not yet taken a picture of the new chest.

After a brief wonder around JL (the food hall is the stuff dreams are made of) and the distraction of a life i only live in my imagination, my tour manager, my new chest of draws and I returned home.

It sits, slightly awkwardly, in the living room, acting as a jumping/hiding/climbing/hanging off of post for the new baby cat, waiting to be transported upstairs once the new windows have been finished.... but that's a whole other story.

Part One

Hello....
I find myself here with not much to say, this isn't usually the case!
But always needing somewhere to start from, this is a better place than many.

...I'll be back in a bit with something else, in the mean time here is my new cat. yip.

I used to have a cat that said hello when she meowed, this one just sounds like a baby dinosaur.

Meow meow meow
